One of many world’s largest copper producers has chosen Sandvik to provide 16 Sandvik D25KX down-the-hole (DTH) rotary drill rigs to be used at an operation in Zambia.
The order, booked in 2025, contains Sandvik’s Distant Monitoring Service, coaching and 12 months of technical help and spare components inventory to make sure excessive uptime and drilling productiveness. All 16 drill rigs will probably be delivered in sequenced batches throughout 2026.
The 16 DTH Sandvik floor drills will complement the mine’s growing old fleet of 9 Sandvik D25KS and 4 Pantera™ DP1500i drill rigs, in operation since 2016. The brand new fleet will help the mine’s lately commissioned enlargement, which features a new processing plant, smelter upgrades and a brand new open pit to spice up annual throughput.
