Enaex Argentina says it has commissioned a 100% electrical unit for mechanised emulsion charging on the Minera Santa Cruz (MSC) gold and silver mine. MSC was based in 2001 via a three way partnership between Hochschild Mining and Minera Andes, now McEwen Mining, with the target of exploring and growing the San José Mine. San José is a low-sulfidation epithermal deposit of quartz veins enriched with gold and silver.
The deposit is positioned within the northwest of the Deseado Massif, 50 kilometres from the city of Perito Moreno within the province of Santa Cruz. When it started operations in 2007, MSC was the primary underground metallic mine with on-site ore processing within the province.
Enaex says it was a joint undertaking developed along with MSC that reinforces a shared imaginative and prescient of innovation and sustainability. It provides that at Minera Santa Cruz, this initiative is constructed on a powerful dedication to innovation and openness to vary as a part of its operational administration; the dedication of its multidisciplinary area groups and collaborative work with Enaex; and tangible enhancements in security, prices, productiveness, and sustainability.
The unit is 100% electrical so it eliminates combustion engine use throughout charging operations and reduces noise in underground mining environments whereas enhancing visibility to boost security. It provides mechanised charging with larger operational consistency.
