UK lawmaker’s X account hacked to spice up rip-off ‘Home of Commons Coin’


The X account of UK member of Parliament and Chief of the Home of Commons, Lucy Powell, was hacked to advertise a rip-off crypto token.

In a sequence of now-deleted posts on April 15, Powell’s X account shared hyperlinks to a token referred to as the Home of Commons Coin (HOC), describing it as “a neighborhood pushed digital foreign money.”

A member of Powell’s employees confirmed to the BBC that the account had been hacked and that “steps had been taken shortly to safe the account and take away deceptive posts.”
