The underground mining crew on the McIlvenna Bay undertaking in Saskatchewan, Canada, has reached a serious milestone by putting in the primary resin anchored rebar bolts with the Sandvik DD422iE rig, the OEM stories.
This battery-powered machine – which carries out tramming on battery and plugs into the mine grid for face operations – is a multi-purpose jumbo that permits miners to bolt and bore with a single machine. This ends in a considerably lowered total cycle time that helps speedy improvement, Sandvik says.
Again in 2022, Sandvik introduced it will provide a fleet of 20 battery-electric automobiles (BEVs), together with vans, loaders and drills, for the undertaking in what was its largest battery-electric car order to this point.
Amongst this 20-strong fleet was seven Sandvik 18-t-payload LH518B loaders, six Sandvik 50-t-payload TH550B vans, 4 Sandvik DD422iE jumbo drill rigs, two Sandvik DL422iE longhole drills and one Sandvik DS412iE mechanical bolter.
The proprietor of the mine, Foran Mining, is placing these machines to work alongside assist from contractor Procon Mining and Tunnelling.
