Loadquip completes testing of 1,500 t/h salt harvester for BCI Minerals’ Mardie salt operation

Loadquip has efficiently accomplished the manufacturing unit acceptance testing for a 1,500 t/h salt harvester equipped to BCI Minerals’ Mardie Salt Operation on the Pilbara coast of Western Australia.

Following the completion of works on the tractor unit, the absolutely assembled salt harvester might be prepared for transport to the positioning, marking a big milestone for the event of certainly one of Australia’s most necessary photo voltaic salt and potash initiatives.

The 1,500 t/h salt harvester has been engineered and manufactured by Loadquip to function inside large-scale evaporation pond environments.

“The machine traverses the ponds whereas gathering salt and loading trailers because it strikes from finish to finish. The harvester and tractor mixture is a well-proven design that comes with a series elevator and loading conveyor to load the haul vehicles,” Loadquip Director, Rowan Nicholas, says.

Rated to reap salt at a mean price of 1,500 t/h, the harvester can surge to 2,000 t/h when required. Typical chopping depths vary between 200 and 300 mm, with the aptitude to chop as deep as 500 mm.

“We’re happy to companion with Loadquip on the supply of this salt harvester for the Mardie Salt Operation,” Dannie Richman, Superintendent Planning at BCI Minerals, mentioned.

“Loadquip’s engineering functionality and collaborative method have been evident all through the venture, and this gear represents an necessary step ahead as we progress in the direction of establishing a world‑class, massive‑scale photo voltaic salt operation.”

Nicholas added: “We’re proud to work with BCI Minerals. It’s rewarding to see our engineering experience contributing to the development of a globally important improvement.”

BCI Minerals is creating the Mardie Salt Operation and Potash Mission on Western Australia’s Pilbara coast as its flagship asset.

The corporate harnesses the area’s plentiful solar, wind and seawater sources to supply industrial salt and sulphate of potash, a premium, chloride-free fertiliser important to world meals manufacturing.

The Mardie venture spans greater than 130 sq.km in one of many world’s premier areas for large-scale photo voltaic salt manufacturing. Designed as a multi-generational operation, Mardie is predicted to function for greater than 60 years and contribute considerably to Australia’s financial future.
