The Twitter account of Mita Murati, the chief know-how officer of synthetic intelligence agency OpenAI, has seemingly been hacked with the most recent tweet selling a “rip-off” cryptocurrency token.

On June 2, Murati’s account tweeted what seems to be a phishing hyperlink promising an airdrop of a purported ERC-20 token OPENAI named after the agency that created ChatGPT.

The tweets creator restricted who might reply to the tweet so others are unable to simply warn the hyperlink is a rip-off.

Twitter customers have, nevertheless, warned of the rip-off with many theorizing Murati was sufferer to a SIM-swapping assault.
